Mail Server Outage

At 11:52 AM PST we lost our primary E-mail server for the sending (SMTP) and receiving (POP3/IMAP) of E-mail. We have diagnosed the problem with Dell technical support and they have dispatched a technician with parts to resolve the issue. The technician is scheduled to arrive by 6 PM today.

Until the server is back online, please use the SMTP server of your local ISP to send your outbound E-mail.

Please note that no incoming E-mails will be lost. Once the server is back online they will be deposited into your mailbox within a few minutes.

UPDATE 3:27 PM: The parts for the Dell server arrived a few minutes ago and a technician is scheduled to arrive here between 4:30-5:00 PM.

UPDATE 4:30 PM: The Dell technician has arrived on site and is repairing the failed server.

UPDATE 4:53 PM: The server has been repaired and is back online. You should now be able to send and receive E-mail. All incoming E-mail that was spooled while the server was offline should show up in your mailbox within 15-30 minutes.

Power Issues at Costa Mesa NOC

At approximately 9:15 AM PST we lost power to 8 servers hosted in our Costa Mesa facility. This power failure is localized to a specific power distribution unit located within a single rack at the facility and is not building or facility wide.

UPDATE 10:25 - The power issue was caused by one or more failed air conditioners in the data center. This caused the power distribution unit to overheat and turn off. We have removed 2 servers from the unit and put them on a separate unit in order to help reduce the heat generated by the one unit. The data center is currently cooling down and air conditioner crews have already arrived at the building to resolve the issue.
